Stanimir Lambov is a Bulgarian guitarist, improviser and composer, with deep passion for music and the guitar. His love for the instrument has brought him into many musical situations, which led to the development of an eclectic playing style. His guitar playing is influenced by many genres, including jazz, classical, world, rock, blues, funk, electronic and much more.

Lambov loves spontaneity and improvisation, hence his interest in improvised music, and explorations of compositional forms, which allow as much freedom of musical expression as needed. These approaches are evident in two of the guitarist’s most notable projects, the trio Lamp Of(f), which blends jazz improvisations, with a touch of psychedelia and rocky riffs, as well as his solo project Ensemble de Solitude, which presents a very bare-bone approach to the solo guitar forms, using only acoustic guitars with lots of space for improvisation.

The guitarist is also part of various projects, such as the TuTuTu Orchestra, the free-improv band No Clue Klub and other collaborations.

His playing style is influenced from many different musicians including rock legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Page and Slash, jazz virtuosos like Lage Lund and Kurt Rosenwinkel, as well as classical composers like Bach, Barrios and impressionists. Throughout his master's studies, the guitarist has been developing his research into incorporating multiple layers and counterpoint into his improvisational and playing approach on the instrument.  A research which continues in his practice as an artist. Currently Stanimir is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where he continues his development as an artist and educatior.

“LAMP OF(F) is a trio which you can easily put in a spotlight, because these three inventive musicians let sparkle your ears.” Mattie Poels

“The Bulgarian Lambov, based in the Netherlands, wants to bring together improv, composition, acceptance and irony with his trio, and he has succeeded in doing so with this debut, which brings together Zappaesque guitar sculptures, airy soundscapes (A Flower Is A Lovesome Thing), minimal music (Dodo) and a dreamy-psychedelic adaptation of Miles Davis' Nardis. “
